My name is Astrid Simandl, and I work to create gentle, soothing, rejuvenating sound spaces for people seeking introspection through sonotherapy, sound healing.
My adventure with sound began at the age of 6. I made my way through the classical music world, going from conservatory to conservatory, from Nice to Paris to London. It was in London, at the highly enriching Guildhall School of Music, that I realized that I didn’t belong as a solo pianist or percussionist. Although there were signs along the way at the time, I wasn’t fully aware that I was heading for sound therapy yet.
Alongside this path, I’ve been passionate about personal growth and human fulfillment since I was a teenager. I’ve studied, read and thought a great deal about the meaning of life, of happiness, which has led me to become an eternal explorer of life and its subtle mechanisms.
As I am a naturally curious person, I’ve studied and/or experimented a wide range of therapies, methods and wellness practices, from shamanism to psycho-bio-acupressure, from karma to Hebrew letters, from psycho-genealogy to energetic healing and hypnosis. I’m not an expert in all these techniques, but they have greatly enriched my current practice.
In particular, I have carried out extensive studies on the effects of music on Alzheimer’s sufferers, and the links between music and altered states of consciousness.
I am thrilled to have launched this activity as a sound healer. I’ve never felt so aligned with what I do. Sound healing seems to bring together all the parts of my being, and I feel that it is through this practice that I offer the best of myself.
More than ever, our troubled world needs these safe and warm spaces, to find resources in oneself.
I’m delighted to offer you these spaces, and look forward to meeting you there!
All best,
Astrid
